Directions for Use
The bioSnacky Glass Sprouter comprises of
1. one dome lid
2. one sieve insert
3. one tray base
The entire unit ensembled, measures 15cm in diameter and 10 cm in height.
Getting Started
1. Soaking
Rinse lid, insert, tray base and desired seeds thoroughly under cold running water. Place the required amount of seeds (Refer to the seed table below for details) on the sieve and place into the tray base ensuring the sieve is in the lower position. Fully cover with cold water and put lid on. Allow seeds to soak for required time (Refer to the seed table below for details).
2. Rinsing
Carefully remove the sieve from the tray base and empty the water, rinse tray base. Return sieve and seeds to the tray base and refill with water. Submerge the seeds in water two or three times. Again carefully remove the sieve from the tray base and empty the water. The more thoroughly you rinse the sprouter and seeds, the more you will improve conditions for growth of the shoots and sprouts.
On the final rinse of the tray base, fill with 3cm fresh water. Return sieve and seeds to the tray base Submerge the seeds in water two or three times then drain off excess water leaving approximately 1cm water in tray base.
Put the sieve into the higher position (on the stands in the tray base). Seeds should not lie in water. The surplus water in the germinator will ensure optimum moisture is maintained. Put the lid back on.
3. Placement
Place your closed Mini Sprouter in a well lit spot not in direct sunlight at room temperature (18-22° C).
4. Growing
Always drain old water away before adding approximately 3cm of fresh water. Submerge the sieve and seeds briefly in water two or three times. Drain off excess water leaving approximately 1cm water in tray base. Return the sieve into the higher position (on the stands in the tray base). Seeds should not lie in water. The surplus water in the germinator will ensure optimum moisture is maintained. Put the lid back on.
5. Harvesting
Your live shoots and sprouts are ready for harvesting within 2-5 days; herbage plants – like Alfalfa - will be ready in 6-8 days (Refer to the seed table below for details).
After harvesting, clean your Mini Sprouter thoroughly with a mixture of water and vinegar and allow to dry naturally. The tray and lid are dishwasher safe (up to 85°C). (Not the sieve)
